Short Story Competition – Fiction Slam

€800 smackeroonies prize money – I am definitely giving this one a go!

More details here. Organised by writing4all.ie and Listowel Writers’ Week. Full disclosure – am currently shortlisted for Writing Spirit Award 2009 organised by writing4all website, as mentioned earlier.

Brief summary of rules: 1,000 words max, closing date February 26th, entre fee €10. Annoyingly, they don’t appear to allow e-mail submissions – hard copy is the only game in town for this one.

Oh, and: the initial judgement for the shortlist is story quality. On the night, it’s (gulp!) quality and performance. Remember elocution lessons. Who’s got my Hairy Toe? WHO’S GOT MY HAIRY TOE?
